Y THE LAST MAN Official Trailer (2021)
Once I commit, my work ethic and professionalism remain intact regardless of Tier or show size.
I worked as a Lead set dresser in Cuba at the beginning of my career and in Toronto at IATSE 873, with an overall work experience of 13 years. In Toronto, Canada, I have worked in big shows such as Y The Last Man Pilot and S1, Titans S4, Painkiller and recently in Salming Borje.
I relocated to Ottawa-Gatienau and am happy to share my knowledge and work with the IATSE 634 family.
NOTE: As film professionals, we are requested not to share images of our work as it contains information that can spoil an entire production. We can only do so once a show has been aired (streamed).
Y The Last Man. 1st Lead Set Dresser. 2020-2021, Pilot and Season 1.
SUITS, seasons 6 to 9.
Here is a list of some of the many tasks involved in set dressing. Likewise, remember that the construction of a studio or location set is highly collaborative work involving other departments, mainly carpentry and painting.
- Pickup and transportation of set dressing to set and back to providers after filming. These elements can go from a simple chair or appliance to a unique piece of art or even a life-size piece of Taxidermy.
- Dressing (placement) of furniture.
- Dressing (natural placement) of smalls ( such as a paper tray with paperwork, computer, files, pen holder with pens, organizer, desk blotter, etc., All for an office desk set, for example).
- Installation of various types of ceiling lights, from residential to custom and commercial.
- Installation of appliances.
- Installation of electrical conduit.
- Installation of ventilation systems.
- Installation of outlets and switches.
- Installation of faucets and sinks.
- Installation of carpet tiles and regular carpet (unusual since it is a Carpentry job, but frequent dressers did it at Suits).
- Installation of Art, primarily paintings and photographs (all imaginable sizes).
- Hanging of Art and Graphics (all imaginable sizes and surfaces).
- Furniture assembly.
- Handling and placement of antiques, rare and fragile elements.
- Maintenance of sets and all set dressing.
- The list could be almost infinite as the number of knowledge and skills in trades is extensive.
